How Insights are made

Each article follows the same pipeline. The steps are automated where a computer is reliable and manual where judgment matters.

1. Plan

Topics come from a published topic map of country and sector hubs and from news feeds of central banks, finance ministries, regulators, the IMF and the World Bank. An article is not planned if a similar topic ran in the last 14 days or if its primary keyword is already used.

2. Fact pack

Before any writing, a fact pack lists every claim the article may use. Claims from the Invest Global dataset keep the source and as-of date of the underlying datapoint. Derived claims such as ranks, counts and medians list the claims they were calculated from, and the method.

3. Draft

The draft uses only the fact pack. Numbers in the text are placeholders that resolve to the claim's display value at build time, so a figure on the page is a verbatim copy of a claim, never a retyped number.

4. Checks

The build fails if any figure lacks a claim, if a link does not resolve, if the voice rules are broken, if the length is out of range, if the text is too similar to another article, or if the summary, takeaways or questions are missing.

5. Independent fact-check

A second review pass sees only the draft and the fact pack. It flags unsupported or overstated claims. The draft is revised until the pass comes back clean.

6. Human review

A person approves each batch before anything is scheduled.

Scores and rankings

Sector exposure scores describe how large and relevant a sector is in a country's economy relative to other countries. They are not a measure of attractiveness, expected return or risk. See the sector pages for the formula behind each score and the data status page for freshness of every source.
